Celebrating 10 years of research.
The 10th Annual Research Meeting (NCAM 2023) of the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) successfully brought together cancer researchers, clinicians, and scientists across Singapore to share breakthroughs and foster collaboration.
Our design contributions shaped the visual identity of the milestone event, delivering:
Cancer remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. For the past decade, the Annual Research Meeting hosted by NCIS has provided a critical platform for accelerating understanding in cancer biology and translating research into improved clinical practice.
Marking its 10th year, NCAM 2023 carried a special weight. Themed “Reflecting on the Past, Reimagining the Future”, the event needed an identity that both honored its academic roots and gestured toward the next decade of innovation in cancer research.
We were tasked with designing the visual identity and event branding for NCAM 2023, including:
Inspired by the theme, our initial direction experimented with a futuristic style, aiming to capture innovation and forward-looking ambition.
Through iteration and feedback, we aligned closer to the academic and professional nature of the event. A clean, minimal design system was developed to reflect credibility, gravitas, and inclusivity across disciplines.
The final design ensured clarity, consistency, and scalability across touchpoints—from pre-event promotion to the physical environment of the conference at NUHS Tower Block.
The final branding for NCAM 2023 struck the right balance between scholarly professionalism and visionary aspiration. It provided a cohesive backdrop for two days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and inspiration—celebrating ten years of research progress while looking boldly toward the future of cancer medicine.
