Building the “UFC of Coffee”.
The project set out to create a dynamic, globally connected platform for coffee competitions - starting with Iron Tongue (Cup Tasting) and eventually expanding into other disciplines. Inspired by the high-energy league formats of F1 and UFC, as well as the community-driven competitions of Comandante and Aeropress Championships, the goal was to design a website that not only informed but immersed users in the vibrant world of specialty coffee.
The landing page would channel the hip, youthful, club-like energy of Barista League and Aeropress, keeping the community updated with the latest events, stories, and sponsorship opportunities. Beyond showcasing winners, the site would highlight rich media - photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes moments from past events—curated across different countries while maintaining a cohesive brand voice and visual identity.
Looking ahead, the vision includes developing a coffee academy and dedicated landing pages for each competition discipline under the same umbrella—much like UFC’s different fight divisions. The immediate focus, however, is on establishing Iron Tongue’s online presence, driving engagement for events and masterclasses while setting the stage for a global coffee competition league.
